PM Pays State Visit to the People's Republic of China

Phnom Penh: The Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen left for China on the morning of February 9, 2023, to pay a three-day state visit to one of the Superpowers of Asia.

The Cambodian delegation left Phnom Penh International Airport at 8 am.

According to a press release issued by the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the Prime Minister's visit to China, he will pay separate courtesy calls to the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, and Chinese Speaker, Li Zhanshu.

He will also hold bilateral meetings with Chinese Premier, Li Keqiang, to exchange views and discuss bilateral ties and cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of common interest and concern. The two Prime Ministers will also preside over the signing ceremony of a number of cooperation documents.

The Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that Prime Minister Hun Sen's upcoming visit to China will provide an opportunity for both governments to further advance the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation and deepen the building of a Cambodia-China community toward a shared future for the mutual benefit of both peoples and nations.

In the same month, South Africa's top court has dismissed a bid by him to overturn the sentence. </p><p>The legal processes against Zuma for alleged corruption during his nine-year reign are widely viewed as test of post-apartheid South Africa's ability to enforce rule of law, particularly against powerful, well connected people. </p><p>Zuma has handed himself in on July 7 to begin his prison sentence, triggering the worst violence South Africa had seen in years, as angry Zuma supporters took to the streets. </p><p>The protests have widened into looting and an outpouring of general anger over the hardship and inequality that persist 27 years after the end of apartheid.
